I must record a rather pleasant and synchronicitous connection. When The Watcher In The Rain was to be performed I publicised the performance at Blackheath Quaker Meeting House where I worshipped. After the Meeting a fairly recent Friend/friend called Tony Weaver came up to me and said "but of course you realise Joyce's great patron was my aunt?" He later came to the production with Brenda Maddox, Nora JoyceÕs biographer, and had hoped to bring Jane Lidderdale (Lucia's legal guardian after Harriet Weaver died) but she was unwell and died shortly after. As alas did Tony, a pioneer of the peace movement.
